BIO
Peter Cole was born on August 5th, 1983 to mother Beverely Moore and father Cyril Cole in Kingston, Peter has lived in the community of sterling castle red hills St Andrew most of his life. At age 10 his mother migrated to the states in search of a better ‘way of life’ to provide for her two sons and left his brother Eugene 18 years old then, to care for Peter his younger sibling. Peter’s love for music started in 1993 @ age 10yrs when he entered Ernie Smith talent show and treats an event put on by Vintage Reggae artiste Ernie Smith who was also a resident of the Sterling Castle community. Peter came second in the competition singing a rendition of Ace Dancehall artiste Beenie Man “Matie a nuh good sittin” track which was a hit at the time. Peter received $500 for his effort and bought himself a pair of shoes as his prize for the competition, and did what he could with little to nothing. Peter’s love for music still remained, and that year even though he wasn’t singing his own songs, he never stopped following music.
“Bittah’s,” Father more popularly known as “Tony World” was friends of Veteran Reggae artiste, Peter Tosh best friend to “Bittah” father, and where he earned his birth name after. “Half Pint” and “Junior Reid,” frequently held major events in Red Hills, which influenced “Bittah,” and help enhance his music talent that was gifted to him from birth and runs deep in his blood.
Peter attended Marverly Mountain Basic School in his community and the Red Hills All Age before earning himself a free place at Kingston Technical High in 1997 after sitting the Common Entrance Examinations. After leaving KT, he attended the Caribbean School of Business, working various jobs to maintain his support after completing school.
During this time in Peters life there was much frustrations and disappointments, Peter then decided to take to the streets, hanging out on the corner with his friends, from there he practiced flowing, and soon sparking a new free style, more improved and better than ever. This was the beginning of “BITTAH,” earning this name from the friends he hung close with on streets. Peter’s confidence was higher than ever, as a artiste. Encouraged by his friends, BITTAH decided to pursue music as a career.
