Well, this weekend there is plenty of activities in stored for the locals and tourist in the Downtown, Sacramento area. The California Spirit Festival is a three-day event, April 26-28th in the heart of Sacramento. There is an expected 700-800 attendees to pass through this community event this weekend. The California Spirit Festival provides the people an opportunity to enjoy, community building, yoga activities, music, good foods, local art, holistic healing, Kirtan, dance, mediation, and more.

You can purchase your ticket in-person at Yoga Shala (21st & H St) from 4pm – 8pm on Thursday, April 25 and at the entrance to the California Spirit Festival starting at 3pm on Friday, April 26.

Bring your ID. You must be present to pick up your own wristband.

Tyrian Purple (also called Royal Purple) dyes clothes a deep purple shade. In ancient times, it was extracted from the Mediterranean sea snail (Murex brandaris).

The Emperors of Byzantium constituted a law forbidding anyone from using Tyrian Purple aside the royalty family. The expression ‘born in the purple’ rose from this practice.
